Joel joined SHAC after extensive experience in Sydney and the UK in a wide range of Architectural typologies. These projects include health, industrial, heritage, recreational, commercial, cultural and residential typologies. Joel has been responsible for the design and documentation of various large projects, from the Cessnock Performing Arts Centre to the recently completed expansion of Newcastle Airport to incorporate international capabilities and new retail fit-out. In particular, Joel is responsible for the management and quality control of Architectural documentation output of the company, ensuring a highly detailed and consistent level of documentation is achieved. As Director, Joel has an important role in the running of the practice, from the guiding of the first line on paper to the last defects inspection.

 
Married with a young family Joel enjoys keeping fit, surfing and swimming. Joel volunteers at Cooks Hill Surf Club as a Life Saver and Junior Age Manager. To add to Joel’s achievements he has been the Masters Champion in surf lifesaving iron man, board and team events at State and National level.
